My kind of people
The folk who make the gin at TOAD are happy in their work, and who wouldn’t be? I was pretty happy, too, when I was there touring the distillery and sampling the product. The Oxford Artisan Distillery is in, obviously, Oxford, England.

I was sitting on a crowded waterbus on the Canal Grande in Venice when this guy with his big fat cigar, designer sunglasses and polished wooden speedboat turned and looked straight at me. Makes me wish I’d paid the extra and taken his taxi.

The historical centre of Avignon, by the Palais des Papes, is alive with musicians and all sorts of people just doing their thing, including my husband who wandered into my shot to challenge the chess player. This was not part of my plan, but I like the result.
